Tenth birthday celebration – Your invitation to the First intranda Goobi Day

It’s hard to believe, but in September Goobi will be ten years old.
We would like to take this birthday as an opportunity to invite our friends, customers and anyone else with an interest to our First intranda Goobi Day. Although the full agenda has not yet been finalised, some of the items are now firmly in place.

We plan to organise a series of presentations, some by intranda and some by Goobi users, in order to draw attention to the latest Goobi 2.0 developments. We will look in detail at the new GUI and explain the changes we have made. We also plan to give a comprehensive picture of the many plugin interfaces that have helped transform Goobi into a highly flexible and modular application over the last five years. In this context, we will be asking questions such as “What are plugins?”, “What different types of plugin are there, and how do they differ?” and “What plugins have already been developed and where can I find them?” Based on this overview, we can go on to demonstrate particular methodologies: “What kinds of workflow can be implemented using plugins alongside prototypical retrodigitisation?” and “How exactly do other Goobi users work?”

In addition to these and other presentation subjects, our main aim is to involve all our users as much as possible, especially in the three areas outlined below.

• Following the pattern established at our intranda viewer meetings, we will again make every effort to ensure that you have plenty of opportunities to exchange information and ideas with each other and to draw our attention and that of other users to your everyday problems as users.
• Building on our own and your experience over the last ten years, we would like you to help us plan our new training programme. We are relying on you to tell us what you want and what you think, so that we can organise courses and workshops that precisely match your day-to-day requirements.
• We also need your help to decide which direction Goobi should take over the coming years. What are your day-to-day requirements? What improvements can we make to meet those requirements more effectively? Is there anything missing? What simply needs to be changed?

You are warmly invited to come and see us here in Göttingen. Help us to plan ahead for the next ten years of Goobi. We look forward to meeting you. Before we go any further, however, we would be grateful if you could answer our non-binding survey before 31 July so that we can decide on the most suitable date for the event:
